Galway Simon Community is a Galway based charity that provides care, accommodation and supportive services to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the West of Ireland. Established in 1979, Galway Simon has since developed a continuum of services to best facilitate the most vulnerable people in our society today. We currently provide accommodation to over 100 women and men throughout Galway City.

We are constantly striving to put an end to long term homelessness, to support those experiencing homelessness, and to raise awareness of the issues and problems in our society relating to homelessness.

Galway Simon Community has assisted people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness for over thirty years. Unfortunately, the present economic climate has resulted in more and more individuals and families needing our support. In 2009 we provided support and services to 56 families with a total of 181 children. Many of these people would have never imagined that they could become homeless.
