Dip at Dawn is our biannual fundraising event at Salthill beach where we gather to celebrate the Summer and Winter Solstice as the sun rises over Galway Bay.

Dip At Dawn

Dip at Dawn this Winter Solstice with hundreds of people at Salthill. We will gather in the Galway Bay Hotel for some light warm up exercise followed by a quick dip in the sea as the sun rises over Galway Bay. Warm up afterwards with tea, coffee, treats and lots of chats back at the hotel. Suitable for beginners and ages 8 to 88 (children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult)! Open to individuals, community groups and corporate teams.
Why Take the Challenge?
Welcome the sun, boost your wellbeing, and support those overcoming homelessness. Enjoy a dip as the sun rises over Galway Bay, some sea air, a warm treat, plenty of chat and the chance to win a raffle prize. Let’s gather together and honour the light within.
Water Safety
Your safety matters: lifeguards and first-aiders on site. Wear a bright swim cap, tow float, and wetsuit.
